![]() Foreword Hello!!! I am the editor of “Gossiper” club, which is part of the young journalists' school of “Manana” Youth Educational-Cultural Center. The members of our club range in age from seven to twelve. I will now tell you about the members of our club. First about me. My name is Gor. I like to read, but often people say that books didn't bring me any good. But if I didn't read, I wouldn't be able to enter our club. Now I will tell you about Gevork. He is very serious in work but also makes a lot of jokes. We always tell him, that he will become an official as he always carries all the copies of our newspaper with him. And he has another strange habit: he writes articles, which are like short notes on small sheets of paper. Moush likes to do funny things, and we say that he is “Gossiper's” clown. But he is a very good boy; he does all the computer work and illustrates our newspapers. And Nareh can give shape and image to any object, even to an ordinary cake. Lilit likes to write poems and to paint. She had a pet; something like a guinea pig called Lolo. But Lolo ran away and broke Lilo's heart. Ashkhen likes water melon so much that sometimes she imagines herself in a water melon world. Mariam speaks very fast. She often confuses Armenian words with Bulgarian ones. She is a very kind and modest girl. Ani is the most serious girl in our club. Sona has just joined us. This is her first story in our newspapers. Today is Tsovo's birthday. She is a bit stubborn and I wish her not to be so. “I wish somebody made me drink less water,” she said. There is another Nareh in our club. She is always keeping mum. We were recently talking about the “End of the Evil”. This is an Armenian national fairy tale about a cuckoo family and a cunning fox. Somebody said: “If your mother were the tale cuckoo, whom would she throw down the tree - your brother or you?” “I wish my brother volunteered to go instead of me,” said Nareh, and then started to cry. “God save my mom from being a cuckoo.” Really, why should we think about cuckoos, we have so many things to do. And just now we are sitting around the table waiting for you to join us. |
